I bought this heart rate monitor to keep a check on my heart rate at the gym as I am never very sure wheather the gym equipment readings are correct. It seems to agree with the readings on most of the equipment and also when I take my pulse it agrees with that too so I would say its accurate. Its a nice looking watch,not too big,its well made and has a lot of functions most of which I haven't sorted out yet and probably wont need. It also keeps good time. The instructions could be clearer, I find them a little confusing but no doubt when I have time to sit down and read them thoroughly all will become clear.
Pleased with the purchase though. Have given it 5 stars though I could have knocked one off because of the instructions.

I bought this because like others I was concerned that the monitors on Gym equipment were inaccurate. It is a nice looking watch but as a heart rate monitor is not up to the challenge. When exercising if you are sweating - normal? - it will not read the heart rate it just does not function, if you dry your wrist it will work but all a bit difficult when exercising. Its for this reason I would say do not buy.

I have started pushing my workouts to an extreme level and need to make sure I do not exceed my hearts Max. This one looked reasonably priced and having no chest strap is a bonus.
However, the moment you start to sweat, ie circa 6 minutes into your warm up and you will NOT get it to work throughout the rest of your workout!
Just don't bother!
Given it 2 stars cause it tells the time, has a stopwatch and illuminates at night.
