Why you should Buy Onyx Pro Heart rate Monitor ?
- Questionnable quality
I don't think this product is great for the following reasons:
I felt there were too many training options and you couldn't see the wood for the trees (p.s. I consider myself to be very computer literate). I was able to work thought it but it required using the manual.
However, the key to this product is the monitoring of your heart (surprise surprise). Personally I felt the accuracy of the fitures on the monitor weren't correct on occasions and often apparently I was dead (no heartbeat). The battery I got with the product lasted 2 sessions so I would also count that as a negative point.
However, I still awarded 3 stars as I don't have experience of using these products and perhaps the level of quality is relatively good - I don't know for sure. All I do know is that I very rarely use it as I don't trust the product.
This is simply my experience.
- Extra functions are not worth the extra cost
I brought this mainly as I needed the digital coded heart rate monitor.
Pros:
-Cheaper than other similar spec brands
-Good build
-Easy to change the batteries
-Excellent heart monitoring, doesn't drop signal (so far!). Audible alert tells you which heart zone you are in, 1,2 or 3 beeps, (as does the cheaper PC15 model).
Cons(why the minus stars):
-The functions, you press a button twice quickly to select most items, a lock to unsure you don't accidentally select something whilst working out.
But for some reason, when you get to 'end workout' followed by 'do you want to save data', you only need to press the button once for each selection and end workout is the same button as NO to saving data. You get in to the routine of double pressing buttons only to lose all your data at the end of the workout.

Great heart rate monitor for a reasonable price. Well made and the synchronisation with the chest strap works well. Alot cheaper than the polar equivalents and I like the ability to change the battery on the chest strap myself. Has all the functions you would need to track ones progress but would have liked to have a way to download to the pc.
