Firstly, the watch is not silver and black as it looks, but actually white plastic and black. This is fine, as it does look retro-cool, but took me aback to start with.
My wife and I were training for two marathons - so needed some reliable kit. I bought the Black Polished T3C for my wife, and after being so impressed with that, I bought this watch for me as I just needed my own HRM and basic stats.
The calories / times / overall stats and last session stats/data are incredible.
My only gripe about this watch (which others have mentioned).
THE HRM STOPS WORKING AFTER 50 MINUTES. EVERY time - it gets to around 49minutes, and then it looses connection and picks up only intermittently which is incredibly frustrating.
The actual watch - when it works - is brilliant, and does get quite a lot of comments as it is a fashion accessory - its just a shame about the HRM...
- Suunto T1C not tough enough
I have owned this watch / HRM for 8 months. For one of those months it has been out of use because it needed a fresh battery. After it sustain an accidental knock against the wall (not what I would consider an hard knock) it has now lost it's waterproof protection. The knock caused a crack in the white plastic shell. This crack is spreading across the clear perpex face as time goes by, obscuring the face of the watch. Related to this incident the face suffers from misting up during work-out when sweat vapour gets into the watch making it difficult to read the digits. If you are as old as me (age 45) you will struggle to read the small type-face used in the inscriptions reminding you how to operate it; I need to use close up reading glasses. To be positive it is attractive and comfortable to wear (I am a gent) although I believe Which magazine report the chest strap is not comfortable for some women.
