I bought one of these to help me keep track of the exercise I was doing. I wasn't sure which model to go for especially as the price range varies wildly, but in the end decided to go all-out and buy the top-of-the range and even though I thought it may be overkill I just didn't want to miss out on any useful features.

When used in conjunction with the chest strap heart monitor you get a very comprehensive log of your exercise routine. It records nearly every aspect of your activity (at the press of a button) including your heart-rate; altitude; outside-temperature and barometric weather measurements. This is then downloadable via the built-in infrared port in the watch to your PC or laptop (provided your PC has an IR port too) and is clearly displayed on the included software's calender and graphical display.
